STK 10401 1903 Columbia Chainless Bicycle

Albert Pope produced the first Columbia bicycles in 1878. After that, he bought the original patent for the bicycle and all other bicycle patents he could find. Based on the badging, This is a Columbia Model 106 - Men's Cushion Chainless, which was produced in 1903. Under the bottom bracket where the two cranks meet, there is usually a serial number. On this bicycle, however, there is a patent date - Nov 13, 1888. The seat was updated at some point but is by no means modern. The last owner of this bicycle raced it in the 1990s, so there are more modern wheels, updated brakes, and a shock absorber. ALL ITEMS SOLD "AS-IS"
