STK 10202 1943 Columbia Superb Bicycle

The Pope Manufacturing Company started producing bicycles under the name "Columbia" in 1878 and became known as America's first bicycles. These were the bikes many kids rode from the early 1930s to the late 1950s. During those years, millions of American children grew up riding lavishly equipped, deluxe, fat-tired, cruiser-style bikes. The classic woman’s bike featured a downward-sloping top tube, a design that dates back to days when women riders wore long skirts. This 1943 bicycle has skirt protector strings on the rear fender. The serial number tells us the bike was manufactured in 1943 - those serial numbers were G112859-G195135 (this serial number is G125562). ALL ITEMS SOLD "AS-IS"
