STK 10201 1948 Columbia Superb Ladies Bicycle
The Pope Manufacturing Company started producing bicycles under the name "Columbia" in 1878 and became known as America's first bicycles. These were the bikes many kids rode from the early 1930s to the late 1950s. During those years, millions of American children grew up riding lavishly equipped, deluxe, fat-tired, cruiser-style bikes. The classic woman’s bike featured a downward-sloping top tube, a design that dates back to days when women riders wore long skirts. The serial number tells us the bike was manufactured in 1948 - those serial numbers were M5001-M345445 (this serial number is M190502). ALL ITEMS SOLD "AS-IS"
